Mohamed “Mo” Hafez is the Founder and CEO of ByteWise LLC, a technology strategy and corporate consulting firm that advises organizations across the United States and the Middle East on artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, data sovereignty, and workforce transformation.

An Egyptian-American executive working between Cairo and Washington, D.C., he is recognized for helping governments and enterprises build trusted foundations for AI through governance, accountability, and strategic technology planning.

With deep expertise in AI procurement governance, model provenance, data localization, and regulatory compliance, Mohamed works closely with organizations seeking to deploy artificial intelligence responsibly and at scale. His work focuses on helping regulated industries and public sector institutions establish the standards, policies, and vendor accountability frameworks necessary to create trustworthy and sustainable AI ecosystems.

In addition to his advisory work, Mohamed serves as adjunct faculty at Johns Hopkins University, where he teaches artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. He is also a keynote speaker on data sovereignty and trustworthy AI and hosts the podcast Beyond the Byte, exploring the human, ethical, and societal implications of artificial intelligence. As a member of the Advisory Board of the AI in Washington Exhibition and Conference 2026, he brings valuable expertise in AI governance, technology policy, and international collaboration, supporting the conference’s mission of advancing responsible AI adoption and strengthening connections between Washington and the Arab world.
